VILLA FORÊT
Villa Forêt is a project that was created on an individual commission. Its simple form has been enriched with decorative details to achieve an effect full of timeless elegance and sophistication.
Both the proportions of the building and the functional layout were dictated by the character and shape of the plot. Villa Forêt, as the name suggests, will be situated on the edge of a forest. Therefore, only a portion of the extensive plot designated for construction has the necessary building status. We utilized it down to the last centimeter and seamlessly integrated the building with all its infrastructure. The less than ideal orientation of the plot and the proximity of neighboring houses led us to position the living area in the northeast section. The pool, on the other hand, will be wonderfully illuminated from the south, providing an unobstructed view of its charms.
We enter the building through a small vestibule, which will mainly serve its purpose during the winter months. We designed doors that retract into a cassette, freeing up the entire hallway space with a coat closet. The living room and dining area cover over 70 m² and are well-lit thanks to additional corner glazing. In the living room, we designed a biofuel fireplace, which, along with a space for a television, is located on the wall separating the living area from the private sleeping quarters on the upper floor. Villa Forêt features a kitchen of over 20 square meters with a pantry, which also serves as a utility kitchen. Additionally, on the ground floor, there is a home gym with tall windows that, when opened, connect it to the terrace, as well as a restroom and a technical room with a boiler room. The comfortable staircase with a landing leads to the upper floor, intentionally designed to provide privacy for all residents.
The upper floor is designed with three bedrooms, a walk-in closet, two bathrooms, and a very convenient laundry room with an ironing area. The Master Bedroom is adjacent to a walk-in closet and a spacious bathroom with a large bathtub, shower, double sinks, WC, and bidet. This bathroom also has space for a vanity and a large window, allowing for excellent natural lighting. Two guest bedrooms have access to a shared fully equipped bathroom.
In addition to the pool on the terrace, there is also a fantastic fire pit with cushions, where only the water surface is visible. Here, two elements merge — water and fire, offering sensory relief and relaxation after the toils of everyday life. Due to the compact building structure, we couldn’t ideally incorporate a roof over the terrace, which is why we decided to build a separate pavilion. It includes a fully equipped outdoor kitchen with a grill, burners, sink, and under-counter refrigerator. Its foundation is a square with a side length of 7.5 meters, allowing for the arrangement of both a dining area and a lounging space with soft armchairs.

FINISHING MATERIALS
The building was designed using traditional masonry technology, with a double-layered wall consisting of a 25 cm brick and a 20 cm thick styrofoam insulation. The foundation on the concrete slab not only enhances energy efficiency but also ensures the even performance of the building and its settlement.
The front bay of Villa Forêt has been entirely finished with natural Croatian limestone. On the remaining elevations, you will find high-quality mineral plaster in a warm cream color. All the decorative elements were designed using lightweight technology, with more intricately sculpted details. A discerning eye will notice more ornate window surrounds and a double cornice. This cornice has been further enhanced with decorative elements, and the intermediate cornice intersects with the glazed bay projection, creating a characteristic “ribbon” that encircles the building.
The hipped roof with a 22-degree slope is the main contrasting element of this project. The roof features French roofing tiles that simulate natural slate in a matte anthracite shade. The window and door joinery has been chosen to complement the roof color. The windows have subtle muntins on the upper sashes. The balustrades are made of minimalist tempered glass, which doesn’t distract from the key elements of the structure.
The surroundings of Villa Forêt are enchanting. A beautiful mixed forest is often the dream of investors, and here, it’s within arm’s reach. Therefore, we aimed to preserve the forest atmosphere of the plot as much as possible, with shrubs and small floral plantings appearing only in certain areas.
