VILLA IDYLLIQUE
Villa Idyllique is our next elevation proposal for a compact building with a floor area of 230 m² excluding the garage in the structure. It shares the same volume as Petite Maison, Industrielle, or Pavé, but on the elevation, you will find a beautiful, hand-formed brick tile in a broken white color and stone elements in the window lintels. Elegant ceramic roof tiles and light gray windows with muntins are a perfect complement to the charming atmosphere that we aimed to achieve.
The design of the classic villa is perfect for a family of 2+2 or 2+3. It is characterized by optimal use of space and a functional interior layout. The entrance to the building leads through a small vestibule with sliding glass doors in the French style. From the hall, we have access to a bathroom with a toilet and a walk-in shower, as well as the staircase.
The ground floor accommodates a very comfortable and well-organized kitchen with an island. Its tall cabinets serve as a handy pantry and allow for storing supplies. The dining area is visually separated from the kitchen by a half-wall with barstools, creating an excellent space for breakfast. The living space is nearly 40 m², but its openness to the hallway (9 m²) and kitchen makes it appear much larger. The ground floor also includes a quite spacious office (17 m²). Depending on the needs, there is the possibility to expand the living room into this space, creating, for example, a home library with a reading nook.
Most rooms on the ground floor have tall windows, providing perfect illumination and serving as an exit to the external terrace. On this level, there is also a boiler room connected to the laundry and a spacious wardrobe for outerwear.
The first floor offers close to 115 m² of space arranged into three children’s bedrooms and the main bedroom with its private bathroom and wardrobe. The children’s bedrooms have access to a fully equipped bathroom with a bathtub, shower, double sinks, toilet, and bidet. The Master Bedroom, on the other hand, has a pleasant addition of access to the front balcony. The smallest of the children’s bedrooms, which can also serve as a guest room, features beautiful triple windows overlooking the garden and a balcony of 13 m², ideal for sunbathing.
In this project, we assumed a layout with two garages forming the letter “U” and internal communication with a roundabout. Anticipating the Investors’ demand for two parking spaces and trying to avoid “garage pavilions,” we decided to create two separate volumes that do not disturb the perception of the architecture but complement its classic character. We have two variants of a detached garage, with widths of 9.6 m and 11.9 m. The latter variant has more storage space and a space for a hobbyist. Windows in both buildings provide natural daylight, while convenient gates with a width of 5 or 6 m and independent side entrances facilitate daily communication.

FINISHING MATERIALS
Villa Idyllique has been designed using traditional brick construction techniques with ceramic blocks. It does not have a basement. The building’s insulation is high-quality styrofoam. The facade features a hand-formed brick tile, which appears throughout the entire building. In the central part of the facade, we opted for a subtle extension of the tile, beautifully breaking up this plane, creating a three-dimensional effect, and serving as a kind of intermediate cornice, continuing the level of the balconies.
Another very important decorative element is the use of stone lintels above the windows, creating a very rural atmosphere while elegantly emphasizing the beautiful, grid-pane windows. In our designs, we often use stone external sills, complementing the classical atmosphere of the architecture excellently. An additional ornament is the intricate lightweight stucco, which can be used as a sub-windowsill to achieve greater depth.
Stucco elements have been limited here to a minimum, appearing as a crown cornice, decorations on balconies, and the building’s plinth, which can also be made of natural stone. However, if budget optimization is a priority, stucco is a suitable alternative.
The hipped roof of this exclusive villa has a slope angle of 35 degrees and is finished with simple, light gray, matte ceramic tiles. The building’s gutters are located on the upper cornice, making them invisible. Downspouts, on the other hand, have been skillfully concealed, allowing for the preservation of a high aesthetic standard of the facade.
The inspiration for Villa Idyllique came from two events that occurred simultaneously: a visit to a breathtaking plot with a private pond and a conversation with our investors, who were working on the Petite Maison project and considering a brick facade. Our reaction did not take long. Inspired, we got to work and brought to life our vision of a picturesque villa reminiscent of the lush green fields of the English countryside.
