MANOR HOUSE

Our investors purchased the property in a shell state, and for several years, it stood waiting for work to be carried out. The house is very extensive, with many individual solutions, such as a pass-through garage with gates on both sides and a double driveway onto the plot. The entire investment is designed in the style of a Polish manor. Here, you can find a red roof covered with traditional carp scales, dormer windows, and clinker, which was intended to create a base for the building. Naturally, in line with an investment designed and implemented several years ago, it features the fashionable color palette of cognac and dark chocolate.

Already at the first meeting, we confirmed the initial color palette. Here, we opted for off-white on the facade, gray-beige garage doors, and a beautiful accentuation of the entrance with natural stone. Unchanged elements include the roof and wooden windows and doors in a bronze color. The clinker on the plinth will be removed, and in its place, there will be an additional layer of insulation, a decorative base, and a finishing coat of plaster. To protect the facade from dirt, we always recommend creating a band around the building with a width of 60-80 cm.

From the very beginning of the work, we wanted to achieve the effect of an elegant manor, allowing for a departure from the horizontal divisions created by the clinker at the bottom and dark soffit at the top. Since the building is not tall, and the entire floor is in the attic, the proportions between the roof and the facade were quite close, so we decided to introduce pilasters that elevate the mass, adding lightness and refinement to it.

One of our favorite elements of this facade is the stone cladding at the entrance. Natural stone slabs were used on the walls of the entrance niche, platform, and stairs to the building. The portal of the doorway, wonderfully emphasizing the elegance and quality of the wooden doors, was designed from the same material. The crowning touch is the elliptical stone surrounds around the windows at the entrance area.

A crucial decision turned out to be the replacement of gutters and downspouts with light ones, in white, thus changing the material of the roof soffit, which, after the alterations, is finished with the same plaster as the facade. This maneuver allowed for “softening” the entire form and creating a smoother transition between the facade and the roof. The choice of classic window surrounds and sills made of lightweight stucco added a touch of classic style to the mass, creating the character of a traditional Polish manor, which for years has been a staple in the architectural scene in our country. In this way, we gave the building new life and dispelled the original idea, creating a completely different dimension of timeless and exclusive architecture.

On the terraces facing the garden, we have combined two materials: composite decking for the pool area and porcelain tiles that excellently mimic stone. The pool will be constructed with a movable bottom, serving simultaneously as its cover and providing an ideal continuation of the terrace with decking. This will secure the pool against animals and children while expanding the outdoor relaxation area. The orientation of the sides determined the location of the covered terrace, which perfectly complements the entire structure and will be an excellent spot for garden gatherings or leisurely outdoor breakfasts.

Are you interested in a similar building transformation? Do you want to give your facade a ‘facelift’ and give it a more classic look? Or maybe you’re planning to expand your home with additional square meters?

Please send us the following information: the location of the project, photos of the building from each side, any existing project documentation, a written description and/or inspirations regarding the direction of the changes. Once we receive the above materials, we will prepare a cooperation offer.
