BEIGE HOUSE

When approaching us, the investors were already at the stage of construction work – building walls and reinforcing floors. Therefore, we had to act quickly so that the construction team could still incorporate any necessary corrections and changes. The building, based on a popular catalog project, is a typical single-story house with an integrated garage. Its front elevation is quite elegant, although the proportions of the garage to the rest of the structure are significant. The main challenge lay in the side elevation, which is long, flat, and rather ordinary.

After determining the color scheme and primary finishing materials, we started working on the elevation concept with the aim of giving the structure a more elegant and timeless character. Together with the investors, we opted for an earthy color palette. Beiges, warm grays, a blend of clinker, and a light roof tone are featured here.

Among the significant interventions in this project, we can mention the removal of small side windows illuminating the garage. In their place, a transom window will be added in the upper segment of the gate, providing more natural light, and the gate itself will gain in lightness. Another change was the introduction of tall windows in the Master bedroom and bathroom, as well as at the back of the building where originally two small windows were proposed, which not only did not enhance the elevation but actually introduced chaos to it.

To achieve a more classic look, we chose subtle and simple in form moldings in the form of window bands, under-window ledges, and a plinth that surrounds the entire building, enriching it and serving as additional protection. The windows, doors, and garage door in shades of gray-beige are kept in warm colors, which will also be present in the interiors, making the entire project very cohesive and pleasant. The glazing features subtly marked divisions in the form of transoms with Viennese muntin’s. We tested various variants here, and this one turned out to be a bull’s-eye, most to the liking of our clients.

The elevation is a marriage of two dominant materials – beige brick tiles and light, creamy mineral plaster. The brick tiles allowed us to emphasize key sections of the façade and visually break up the very long side elevation. Another material used at the main entrance is cladding made of quartz conglomerate, excellently imitating natural stone. For the roof, we opted for a simple roofing tile in a shade of light gray with a matte finish. Gutters and downspouts with a square cross-section were also selected in this material. The roof soffit, as well as the entire terrace roofing, will be finished with plaster in the same color as the façade. We really like such clean and simple solutions that make the building appear more elegant.

Are you interested in a similar building transformation? Do you want to give your facade a ‘facelift’ and give it a more classic look? Or maybe you’re planning to expand your home with additional square meters?

Please send us the following information: the location of the project, photos of the building from each side, any existing project documentation, a written description and/or inspirations regarding the direction of the changes. Once we receive the above materials, we will prepare a cooperation offer.
